She is frail and pale, but still funny...and sweet.

My Mom, Stepdad, Aunt Bobbie and I went to visit Lauren, Glenn, Phoebe, and Blake (Lauren's wonderful boyfriend), for a long weekend (January 30th through February 2nd) at their apartment in Indiana. My brother has had to rent a small efficiency apartment in Indiana to keep Lauren close to Rileys Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He has had to make several spur-of-the-moment trips there in recent months.
We had a wonderful visit. It was good to see Lauren and for all of us to be together. She is frail and pale, but still funny...and sweet. I'm ready to go back for another visit...which will be soon.

  1. Lauren, first of all I want to thank you on behalf of myself and J W Rentals for allowing us to help you fullfil one of your goals. Your dad told me you wanted to have your own apartment. Well, you your own apt now and I am so grateful for that as your life has been a journey and not a destination. You have encountered many detours, mountain, raging rivers and road blocks but you seem to endure all that comes your way. You are hero, too many. Someone who is brave and has great courage to move forward regardless of the circumstances.

Since you have moved into one of our apartments a day doesnt go by that I make sure I thank God for all that I am and all that I have. You have a been a godsend to so many I am sure.

I have had the opportunity to meet your dad, stepmom,(Phoebe), your aunt from TX, grandmother and grandfather from ILL and oh yea, your very special friend Blake. He is a true gem for sure. I have stopped by the apt to check up on you and several occasions you may have been taking a snooze or it was just bad timing but one thing for sure your dad loves to be in the kitchen cooking. I think I have only been there once when your dad was not preparing something to eat and that was because he had went to Pizza King.

I have known that live is to short and you should not take things for granted but sometimes that bit of knowledge gets pushed back somewhere and you forget what is most important. I want to say thank you because you have reminded me that life is to short. I beleive you were brought to our business so that we could be of service to you and your family for a reason. I may not know at this exact moment what the reason is but I beleive in time I will know.

When I am having a tough day at the office and make silly errors that create more work for me I see your dad or Phoebe drive by or Blake in his car coming to be with you and I smile and forget about how uchy my day has been.

I have no doubt that you are a shining star, a ray of hope and a bright spot in someones heart due to the person you are. You are a true example of a real hero. Keep smiling, and remember one of the greatest things in life are memories. Someone told me once that a good fullfilled life is one that takes time to make memories. Life would be empty without them.

    Again, THANK YOU !
    PENNY
